Meet Karen
We met patient and family storyteller Karen Klak in 2020 with news of her recently released book about their beautiful daughter, Haley. The book is titled Happy Faces Only: The stories of a little girl who lived (karenklak.com).
In her blog, our friend Karen reflects on the theme for the 2021 Online Gathering: Community. It's a generous piece reflecting on the power of connection and the relationships that can be made in healthcare, even in the toughest of times.
Meet Lucy
For a number of years, Lucy and her husband Richard have been dear friends and key members of the Gathering of Kindness team.
Lucy is the author and story collector behind the book Beyond the Stethoscope: Doctors’ stories of reclaiming hope, heart and healing in medicine, which was first launched at the Gathering of Kindness a few years ago.
In her blog, we reflect on how the book and it's wisdom from doctors is now more pertinent than ever before.
